U.S. Open Education expo

The METROsquash Experience

METROsquash will host an educational exposition as part of the 2010 U.S. Open event in Millennium Park.  Chaired by Clare Muñana, Vice President of the Chicago Board of Education, the event will give Chicago Public School Students an exciting opportunity to learn about the unique ways in which squash, academics, life skills, culture, and community service interact to build confidence and capabilities of Chicago’s youth.  At the exposition students will interactively experience what METROsquash has to offer

On September 30 and October 1, over 2000 Chicago Public School students will have the opportunity to visit the Park to learn about what makes METROsquash such an effective program. The unique mix of squash, education and enrichment draws students into the program and keeps them hooked.

Upon arrival at the Park, students will receive METROsquash Experience Passports.  They will tour educational exhibits set up around the grounds and receive stamps to fill up their passports.  Here’s what they’ll learn.

Opportunities for Sponsors

As part of a 2010 U.S. Open sponsorship, companies can choose to host a tent at the METROsquash Experience educational exhibit which will associate their brand with topics that are important to Chicago Public School students and their families.   Sponsors will have access to 1000 students per day, plus another 1000 students, parents and event patrons per evening, from September 29 through October 2.  They will be given brand exposure both at the event and at the University Club, where preliminary tournament matches will be played earlier in the week.
