The Setting

The Pritzker PavilioN

Millennium Park is located in the heart of downtown Chicago and is an award-winning center for art, music, architecture and landscape design that is free and open to the public. Now for the first time, it will host a professional sporting event.

The all-glass squash court will shine like a jewel on one of Millennium Park’s most prominent features —the Frank Gehry-designed Jay Pritzker Pavilion, the most sophisticated outdoor stage of its kind in the United States. A special gallery is being built to host this unique event. There will also be seats available at no charge to the general public. The court will be sheltered by the stage structure allowing play to continue regardless of the weather.

Opportunities for companies to set up interactive display booths on the apron behind the gallery are available. Jumbotron screens will be set up to provide extended outreach and visibility of the event.

Other prominent features of the 24.5 acre park are the interactive Crown Fountain by Jaume Plensa; the contemporary Lurie Garden designed by the team of Gustafson Guthrie Nichol Ltd, Piet Oudolf and Robert Israel; and Anish Kapoor’s hugely popular Cloud Gate sculpture.
